The 12 Bay Rack Enclosure is designed to work with our many 4 port PM capable host cards to provide unequaled performance. When combined with the latest generation Seagate 7200.11 hard drives, each capable of 100 MB/s when empty, individual Port Multipliers can be kept saturated with the data from 3 drives each. Multiply that times four individual Port Multipliers and you will begin to understand why the 12 bay rack enclosure is the King of Performance.

  By employing redundant fans the drives are kept in a cool working environment no matter how constant their duty. Keeping drives cool is one of the most important means of extending drive life. The more stable the drive temperature the longer the drives will last. These enclosures incorporate a fan behind each set of three drives as well as a power supply fan and an extra large case evacuation fan that's slow turning to reduce the noise generated. Rest assured, your drives are well managed within this enclosure.

  Attaching the enclosure to your computer couldn’t be easier. With an eSATA connector on the back for each port multiplier - you connect the optional 1 or 2 meter long eSATA cable between PCI host card and enclosure. Enclosures come fully assembled either ready to install your choice of SATA Hard Drives or already assembled with Seagate or Hitachi SATA Hard Drives for industry leading performance at bargain prices. All components are SATAII capable and meet all SATA-IO.org specifications.
