KC21-SATA - Mapower KC21 USB 2.0-Firewire 800 2.5" SATA Bus Powered Enclosure

  The days of the ATA drive are numbered. Most drive manufacturers have ceased production on all but a few part numbers of ATA drives. This means the ATA drives are only available in limited quantities. SATA has really taken over the game in the last few years with it's superior interface and much improved performance. We are now offering an enclosure similar to the popular KC-21 that houses a 2.5" SATA drive and can still be bus powered, meaning no external power cables. These drives offer capacities up to 500 GB. This new enclosure is nearly identical to the KC21 yet uses the newer SATA 2.5's and a faster Firewire 800 Bridge Board.

  This little enclosure is the perfect place to back up your mobile computer while on the road. It's also perfect to keep in your camera bag for downloading your camera cards to or for a redundant storage of irreplaceable photos & data while on the road. Since it offers Firewire 800 speeds it won't slow you down. If your computer doesn't have Firewire it also works as a USB drive at full USB speeds.

  We're now offering the new Seagate Momentus ASG drives that offer G-Force protection technology. This provides extra robustness for the drive in an all out environment. The G-Force Protection feature provides enhanced data protection against shock that may occur while the drive is operating. This feature is only available on the 7200 RPM Momentus SATA drive ending with "ASG", in 160, 250 or 500 GB Sizes. G-Force features may protect your data should the drive be dropped while it's operating.

  The KC21-SATA works great as a companion drive for your Laptop or MacBook Pro computer as a tag along drive. It's bus powered so you can power it right from your laptop in the field or use the included external power supply. Our line of Momentus SATA Laptop Drives are a perfect match for this enclosure.

  This drive enclosure ships with a Firewire 800 and USB cable as well as an external power supply and a nice padded case.
