ARC-1223-8X - Areca Hardware RAID 8 Channel Controller
The Areca 6G SAS interface supports both 6Gb⁄s SAS disk drives for data-intensive applications and Serial ATA (SATAIII) drives for low-cost bulk storage of reference data. The ARC-1223-8x supports directly attaching 8 drives via 2 external SFF-8088 connectors. Each port on the SAS controllers supports 4 SAS and⁄or SATA devices. This board works with SAS drives but DOES NOT offer SAS expander support. If you wish to daisy chain multiple expander enclosures check out the Areca ARC-1880X SAS Controller card.
