 The iStoragePro iR16SAEJ Rack Enclosure is equipped with high performance SAS expansion technology and designed with one Mini-SAS 8088 cable connection to a Host Enclosure. This efficient SAS interface provides a cost effective solution without compromising performance or reliability.
The iR16SAEJ Enclosure connects to an installed iR16SASER (SAS), iR16FC4ER (Fibre Channel) or iR16IS4ER (iSCSI) enclosure allowing up to 870 MB⁄s Reads and 743 MB⁄s Writes while configured as a RAID 5. (Performance is dependent on host enclosure connection type) In addition this enclosure is capable of expanding to 240 TB using up to 4 iR16SAEJ Expander Enclosures on the iR16SASER and up to 288 TB with the iR16FC4ER and iR16IS4ER enclosures.
The SAEJ iStoragePro enclosures are being upgraded to the new 6G SAS protocols for even better performance. These enclosures will be available starting February 2012.
