SATA and eSATA data cable identification photograph  Burly Storage sells only the very highest quality SATA Cables made. These cables are available in two connector types, eSATA that stands for external SATA and the older and less robust Type-A (found on hard drives, internal ported cards and motherboards) which has the original "L" shaped inner slot. All internal SATA connections are Type-A and MOST External connections are eSATA. Make sure that you check both ends to verify what it is that you'll need.

  All Burly Storage products will be eSATA if the connection is made outside of an enclosure and Type-A if inside. These two connector types are not interchangeable but we do have converter cables available with one of each type of connector should you have an old style host card with Type-A ports.

  All of our SATA cables are 1.5Gb/s (SATAI) and 3Gb/s (STATII) compliant and will conduct data at the highest possible speeds.

  Any cable used outside of an enclosure must be a shielded cable to avoid data corruption caused by RFI or EMI. These forms of interference can cause data corruption. Simply by using high quality shielded cables this problem can be eliminated.
