Burly Desktop VR Enclosures are designed as a complete ready to work Hardware RAID System using a PCI-X or PCI Express Areca Hardware RAID Controller. The rock solid Burly 8 Bay Enclosure includes a Mini-SAS Backplane and Mini-SAS External Data Cables. By using the Mini-SAS cabling we can ensure the very best performance and reliability with each drive having it's own dedicated bandwidth. The SFF-8088 connectors attach with a latch that keeps the cables connected and the RAID reliable.

  Simply choose the expansion bus type your PC or Mac uses (PCIe or PCI-X) and configure the system with the drives, bays type and cable length you like and we'll do the rest. We'll ship it completely tested with our Quick-Start Guide on a CD to make the set up quick and painless. Just remember you'll have the storage volume of the drive size multiplied by 7 when considering drive sizes. The volume of one drive is lost to parity.
